KitShunt: the green boxes you asked about are power connectors. three terminals = +15V, GND, -15V. Its called a Phoenix connector (also made by Kobiconn and other manufacturers). It has screw terminals so its convenient to attach wire leads from the power supply. The terminal spacing is 5mm so it fits the 0.1" grid of the perfboard I use. good luck.

Hi there, thanks for sharing these circuits!

I do have one question though (probably a stupid one!)...

In the photos of your drum circuits, there is a green box with 3 screws in the top, towards the right hand side of each board. But there is no mention of this component in any of the subsequent diagrams. What is this green thing for?

Any advice would be muy bien!
Thanks again for the designs!!

Finally I have my 808 kick into a box. Just one slight problem... I hear a 'click' every time it triggers. Any ideas why this might be, or advice on how to remedy it? Much appreciated!

Jim, it can work either way. TRIG and ACC behave sort of like a logical AND gate. But you can vary the voltage on ACC from 2V-15V to affect the 'velocity' of the percussion.

hi,
Before I stumbled on your website I built the tr-808 bd. I'm a bit confused with something. My circuit works as it should but where you have the accent line, I used that line as the trigger line from my 606. The original service manual says that is the trigger line, so what gives? Am I wrong and that is the accent line? or?

Thanks heaps Eric for putting this up! Had some problems initially but sorted them out with your help (and patience). Thanks for your selfless sharing of all your knowledge. I imagine I'll be building a lot more from your site. Cheers!
